Hancock Bred Horses for Sale

Draft horses are not a lot different than a saddle horse.

Draft horses are a large horse that was originally bred for moving or towing heavy objects. Draft horses are the short, stocky plow horse our fathers found necessary for field work many years ago.

Draft horses are bred to pull the heavy carts or plow. Putting a saddle on a name is like trying to put a saddle on a refridgerator. Draft horse are supposed to have hind legs that are "set" at a good angle for leverage in pulling. A name is the most gentle creature imaginable and 2.5 miles per hour or 220 feet per minute are about as fast as a Draft Horse will move. Draft horses present a whole new challenge.

Most horses can be taught to do almost anything. When the horse is being trained, the lesson should be ended before the animal shows signs of agitation or fear. The temperament of a horse with any particular rider handler depends upon that rider handlers skill in riding and handling horses; regardless of their training. When he is excited you'll see him running around with his tail up and out, this is called high-tailing.

If a horse blows into the other horse's nostrils it is saying 'hi' and when the other horse blows back he or she is returning the greeting. The happiness of name has become more of a priority for many horse owners. The temperament of a horse and what specific needs the animal requires should not be taken lightly.

The temperament of a horse can easily be changed with time and a lot of love for the animal. The temperament of a horse can make a big difference to an inexperienced rider. They are a big responsibility.
